Posted: June 23, 2022: You are invited to participate in the Papers and Abstracts write shop organized by Uganda Evaluation Association. The course will cover key questions like what is an Abstract, why is it written and its composition. As a write-shop, there will be a short practical exercise on writing hence every participant should have a pen and notebook or a laptop to quickly carry out a written exercise. The expected output is for every participant to draft an abstract. The outcome is that participants shall be able to compose abstracts from original ideas that suit the expectations of specific conferences or journals. A question and answer session will be offered alongside exercises.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER - Asiimwe Joy Turyamwijuka
Asiimwe is a Development Management professional and scholar in the social sciences background; motivated to promote learning during program management. Asiimwe is an active member of Uganda Evaluation Association since 2008 and served in the capacity of General secretary in 2017. She is a member of IDEAs, AfrEA and was Program Manager of the RICE for SDGs project under Peer-to-Peer programs of UEA in 2017, funded by the international organisation for co-operation in Evaluation (IOCE).
She has 18 years of Lecturing experience at Uganda Christian University and 7years of field experience in Project management. She holds a Masters degree in Development Studies majoring in Local and regional Development (IISS), a Bachelors in Social Sciences (MUK), and currently pursuing a PhD in Public administration at Uganda Management Institute (UMI).
Asiimwe achieved certificates in short M&E Courses from IPDET at Carleton University in Canada, GIZ and Office of the Prime Minister of Uganda under the Evaluation Capacity Development (ECD), IOB University of Antwerp and CLEAR AA at Witwatersrand University in South Africa.
She has expertise in facilitating learning for various age groups, course content development of long term and short-term courses (including blended learning and experiential learning.) She has participated as individual consultant in Capacity building teams for community leaders, women, civil society and selected local governments in Uganda, Tanzania and Burundi.
