This is a practical training that will introduce M&E Experts to SPSS and its uses for statistical analysis through hands-on experience. Getting started with SPSS files, Data entry: manually and from excel, Editing and organizing datasets, SPSS options and functions, Descriptive statistics, Graphical displays, Parametric significance tests and Nonparametric significance tests

About the Trainer
Ismail Muhammad is a statistician, Data analyst and M&E practitioner 4 years’ experience in project management, research surveys and evaluation. He has a Postgraduate diploma in PPM and Bachelor of statistics – IUIU, Postgraduate diploma in M&E – UMI. He has successfully accomplished several consultancy assignments with Buliisa Rural Initiative for Development (BIRUDO), LCD-UK, Signal-UK, among others. He is the Data Team Lead, at Health Right International, an international NGO implementing research projects in refugee settlements in Uganda. Ismail has considerable experience in coordinating research surveys and, data management and heading consultancy teams having done this for several client assignments at both the local and international scenes. He is highly analytical and good at conceptualization, logical thinking, and problem solving. He also has excellent report writing skills, self-motivated, dynamic, result oriented and an enthusiastic learner with outgoing personality and good at time management. Ismail has vast experience in data analysis training using SPSS and other statistical packages.
SPSS is a software package used to manage and analyze quantitative data which has been widely used by academicians. SPSS is used for logical batched and non-batched statistical analysis. SPSS is used to generate tabulated reports, charts and plots of distributions and trends, descriptive statistics and conduct complex statistical analyses. It is the most popular statistical packages which can perform highly complex data manipulation and analysis with simple instructions. Universities widely use SPSS to train Students; however, there is still low depend of the statistical package in Business and organizations in low developing countries.
