AfrEA Call for 2021 - 2022 Board Nominations
As you may be aware, the 10th AfrEA Conference will be held from 15-19 November 2021, and a new AfrEA Board will be elected to serve for a period of two years at the General Assembly. On behalf of the Independent Electoral Committee, I am reaching out to you personally to please urge you to consider nominating a suitable candidate to represent your Region on the AfrEA Board of Directors. The nomination window has now been extended to 07th November 2021. The African Evaluation Association (AfrEA) Independent Electoral Commission seeks nominations for the upcoming election of its incoming Board of Directors, comprising nine (9) members including:
 
  1. Three (3) elected Executive Committee members consisting of the President, Vice-President, and Treasurer
  2. Five (5) elected regional representatives representing the five regions of the African continent, namely: Northern, Eastern, Western, Central, and Southern Africa
  3. One (1) elected institutional representative representing bilateral, multilateral agencies, or research/ academic institutions

Submission Process

Each nomination submission should contain:

  1. Nominee Qualifications: a current, abbreviated curriculum vitae of the nominee: maximum 3 pages underlying relevant qualifications to serve AfrEA
  2. Nominee Statement: a brief statement from the nominee providing answers to the three following questions:
  • Why I am interested in serving AfrEA as a Board member?
  • What are my relevant skills and abilities to serve AfrEA as a Board member?
  • What position within the Board am I nominating myself for and what is the rationale behind it? (Candidates are invited to clearly state if they are running for President, Vice-President, Treasurer, regional representative, or institutional representative).

N.B.: Candidates can only apply for one position.

Nominee Support: a letter of support from the Nominee’s VOPE outlining the reasons why the nominee is worthy of serving AfrEA

AfrEA is nothing without its membership, and in order to strengthen monitoring and evaluation across the Continent, we need a strong AfrEA, led by a strong Board. We appeal to you and your members to please support the process by nominating a suitable candidate for the positions on the Board, and voting during the election process.
